art tutoring or selling a service
In an era in which Donald Trump has a University for making millionaires, why not weekend workshops to turn you into an artist?
The business model of "if I can do it you can do it" reached the world of old trades like fine arts, that require solid study and years of practice, and translates now into instant art tutoring online business in which after tree weeks of paid classes you are ready to produce in acrylic, watercolor, graphite works that you sign as a trained artist who can even boast a diploma of merit from your online teacher.
Here is one example of such websites, mostly in the English speaking communities around ...the web:Art Tutoring...10 tips for supporting your art career by teaching art
Please note the consumerist approach: "tips" on how to look more like a business person than a tutor.

on Maurice Cotterell
Reading The Terracotta Warriors one is invited and incited into reading Cotterell's theories (through the Appendices) on solar activity and Mayan, Egyptian,Peruvian etc. calendar, symbolism, or how the author names them "secret codes".
The way the Chinese history of writing and first writings is told by Cotterell demonstrates an expedite and consumerist approach, speculative thinking, amateurish "decoding" of Chinese characters and Chinese mythology.
Definitely not a scholarly book, in my opinion, or any scientific theory for that matter.
What is more amazing is the fact that there is no data regarding M. Cotterell's credentials, studies, bio in the Wikipedia or any web page(other than selling of his books, videos; radio talks).

buddhist art readings
Preparing my summer vacation in China, along the Silk road cities of Dunhuang, Xi'an, Luoyang I checked out from UCI Library three books on Chinese buddhist art.
Cave Temples of Dunhuang, Art and history on the Silk Road by Roderick Whitfield, Susan Whitfield, Neville Agnew,The British Library, London 2000.
Chinese Buddhist Art by Patricia Eichenbaum Karetzky, Oxford University Press, 2002.
The Terracotta Warriors by Maurice Cotterell, Headline Book Publishing, 2003.
It's a modest beginning of my exploration of Chinese Buddhism.
Here is a buddhist mask, carved in wood, bought last year in Chinatown, in San Francisco.
