Picasso again
I just finished reading the memoires of Fernande Olivier, in the English translation, Loving Picasso; a book first edition as Picasso et ses amis was published in France in 1933 and the translation into English known as Picasso and his friends appeared in 1964.The memoires document a period between 1905-1911 known as the Bateau Lavoir times, Picasso's first studio in Paris, also his blue and rose periods. There are depictions of daily life in Montmartre, the group of friends at the time, Apollinaire, Braque, Gertrude Stein, Max Jacob among others.Fernande Olivier, former model to famous artists and sculptors, writes a vivid journal of this entourage as well as of the struggles of young Picasso.
